Transparency of Pride On Main
In the spirit of transparency we would like to share with you the background of any funds collected in support of the Pride on Main weekend celebration!
Any sponsorship funds collected will be directly routed to Misfit Mountain Animal Rescue as they are the fiscal sponsor for the Pride on Main celebrations. Since IDEA of Haywood County (the engine behind Pride on Main) is not a 501c3, having a fiscal sponsor is legal and will allow donors the opportunity to receive tax receipts for their donation. In addition, Misfit Mountain stands in good financial standing with the IRS and can provide receipt and transparency in funds received and spent. Why Misfit Mountain? They are an LGBTQIA+ owned local nonprofit that offers community space for all, hosts programs for many marginalized populations, and is the host of the DEI Passport program to be launched with IDEA of Haywood County at the commencement of Pride On Main. Funds received will be used as follows:
Operating Expenses
Pride On Main Weekend Celebration: (Volunteer Tshirts, Marketing and Advertising, Flyers, Live Music, Buskers, Safety and Medical Supplies, Parade Banner and Decorations).
General Website Maintenance for Pride on Main: 1 year subscription and domain host fee
Community Giving - Education
Purchase of LGBTQIA centered books for the library
Community Giving - Education and Youth
GSA Alliance of Haywood County-Donation towards Youth Programming
Community Giving - Business District and Community Safety
Start Up Costs for the DEI Passport Program for Haywood County which will launch a passport that highlights safe businesses in the county by amplifying the voices of our small businesses who advocate for equity, equality, inclusion, and safety. This initiative will be in collaboration with Haywood County Tourism and Development, Visit NC Smokies, and many other local businesses.
Operating Costs for 2025
If there are remaining funds after these items they will be used as start up funds for Pride On Main 2025.
